Found this website today, and I wanted to share it with anyone out there who's artsy. It's a project to create a poster to sell as a fundraiser for Japan. The cool part? Your artwork goes on the poster, along with submissions from other people.
Hey Fashionistas! Are you on Gilt? It's a great site for getting designer fashions at crazy discounts. You need to be invited or apply to join. Here's your invite from me :-) Click here.
Traveling is great, but unfortunately not something we can do all the time. I love having local getaway spots to have a mini vacation. For me it's the spa. I'm lucky enough to live close to Mirbeau, one of the top spas and top small resorts in North America, according to Conde Nast Traveler. The resort has a french theme, and a garden that's straight out of a Monet painting. I love the spa.
I used to watch this movie all the time. Watching it as an adult is just as good.
I love Vada's poem at the end:
Weeping willow with your tears running down,
why do you always weep and frown?
Is it because he left you one day?
Is it because he could not stay?
On your branches he would swing, do you long for the happiness that day would bring?
He found shelter in your shade.
You thought his laughter would never fade.
Weeping willow, stop your tears.
There is something to calm you fears.
You think death has ripped you forever apart.
But I know he'll always be in your heart.
Other favorite parts:
When Vada and Thomas J become blood brothers. I totally did that too when I was little!
Harry tells Shelly he doesn't want to go to a movie, but that he likes Bingo. As a kid, that seemed fine, but as an adult, I realize how weird and lame that is!
Thomas J says: "I'm going to be an Acrobat when I grow up" - Little kid dreams are the best :-)
I love when Vada and Thomas J Kiss, and then say the pledge of allegiance so it won't be awkward.
I went to my big sister's baby shower this weekend :-)
The shower was beautiful... so much pink to celebrate the little baby girl!
I loved the cake, which was made by a friend of the mom-to-be. It made me want to take a cake making class!
